Builder: Frame Homes
This intelligently-designed home embraces a modern, relaxed lifestyle within its efficient 134sqm footprint. Featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms, including an ensuite and walk-in robe in the main bedroom, nothing has been spared to ensure the property fits the family’s needs to a tee. At first glance, the home’s striking trio of rooftops defines the silhouette and draws the eye with architectural interest and charm. A mix of brick and weatherboard cladding breaks up the forms, while a recessed entranceway provides a sheltered welcome.
Step inside to discover a kitchen designed for more than just cooking. The classic white subway-style splashback behind the hob and the streamlined cabinetry create a stylish backdrop for entertaining. The walk-in scullery is a versatile storage space and the impressively generous island bench is a standout asset, perfect for hosting gatherings. Adjacent to the open-plan living zone, a sliding door connects with the outdoor area, promoting a sense of openness and flow. A courtyard, tucked between two wings of the house, is a private and sheltered place to sit. The bedrooms are also bathed in natural light, thanks to floor-to-ceiling glazing. A blend of modern ambition and everyday functionality leads the way for this affordable build.
French Electrical created the lighting plan for this Paerata Rise home, covering all electrical elements including power outlets, lighting, TV connections, appliances, and heat pumps, etc.
Frame Homes has been working with French Electrical for around fifteen years. Mark Frame shared, “We appreciate their professionalism and reliability, they always show up when they say they will. Their expertise, quality workmanship, and attention to detail are consistently impressive.”
Congratulations, Mark and the Frame Home team!

How do you get an award?
To participate in the House of the Year competition, entrants must be Registered Master Builders. It is widely regarded as the most prestigious event in the building industry. The competition includes a range of categories: three for renovations, seven for new homes, as well as categories for Show Homes, Builder’s Own Homes, and multi-unit developments such as apartments, duplexes, and terraced housing.
Awards are based on a points system. A Bronze Award is given for achieving 75% of the available points, Silver for 82.5%, and Gold for 90% or more.
Beyond these awards, there is an additional level of recognition: the Top 100 Finalists. These are made up of the three highest-scoring Gold Award winners in each category, with the remaining spots filled by the next highest Gold Award recipients, regardless of category.
